Here’s this week’s New Music Roundup. We’re kicking things off with When She Flashes Her Smile at Me by Inwards. It’s taken from their forthcoming album Diesel which comes out on 27th April on Small Pond:
Jumanjiheadline the Haunt tomorrow night, playing the local date of their tour supporting their debut EP For Now which came out last Friday:
Next up is Heirloom with their new track Femme. You can catch them supporting Demob Happy this Saturday at The Haunt:
Ethan Barton is a songwriter originally from Devon but is now studying in Brighton. He released his More Happier EP in January, but didn’t promote it at the time and is now trying to get it out there, and we’re happy to oblige:
Luvia‘s debut single For You was released last Friday on My Little Empire records. If you’re going to the Great Escape then there’s a high chance of catching her – it seems that she’s playing at least three gigs over the weekend.
Scab Hand have a new EP out. Sparse Anatomy was released last week and was produced by Marc R Norris from Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. Here’s EP opener Turkey:
Also out last Friday was Elaina Bel‘s new release So Far:
Tim Woodbridge got in touch with us at the end of last month to tell us about his upcoming single. It’s called Outside and is out now:
Sit Down released their Cheap Luxe EP at the end of March. Here’s opener Mothership. The next chance to catch Sit Down in Brighton will be at Bad Pond Festival at the end of this month:
Black Peaks single Can’t Sleep came out a few weeks ago, but we’ve been a bit slow off the mark. Sorry guys. They’re off on tour soon, but with no Brighton date announced. They’re playing plenty of festivals over the summer though, and who knows what else is left to be announced:
Breathe Panel released their new track Carmine recently. The band have an album coming in July on Fatcat Records which you can probably hear some of live when they play at the Spectrum Record Store Day gig at the Dome on 21st April:
Last, but by no means least we have Zofff who have put out their third album fff, continuing the psychedelic journey of their first two records. Live dates are in the pipeline, but nothing has been announced yet.

Here’s this week’s new music roundup, just in time for Easter, and with two of Brighton’s biggest bands with brand new releases. New first of these is The Go! Team who shared the video for their new single The Only Thing New is U Finding Out About It. Previously only available as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Semicircle, it’s now out as a single for the rest of the world: Continue reading →
It’s been a few weeks since out last post for which we can only apologise – we had a holiday, then jet lag, and only now we’re back on the blogging wagon. In that time both The Magic Gang and Fickle Friends have released their albums, and it seems to have been one of the busiest periods for other bands to share new music. We’d have no hope of catching up if we wrote up our new music post the way we normally do, with us much info as we have and details of any upcoming gigs, so for this post we’re going to keep things brief – just names of bands and tracks – and hopefully by next week we can get back to normal.
The beast from the east might be making it feel like deepest midwinter, but it’s actually the first day of March, so it’s time for some more another gig preview post. First up, this weekend AK/DK play their first Brighton gig since their album launch at the end of last year. It’s at Patterns on Saturday night, and support comes from Fruity Water.
Then on Tuesday 6th March Guru and Hake launch their new release at the Green Door Store. The split 10″ contains Medicine Man by Guru and After Space Legacy by Hake and can be bought at the show. Continue reading →
It’s a quiet week for new music, but it’s quality over quantity. First up is sometime member of Frost and The Larsens Johanna Bramli, whose debut solo EP came out last Friday. The five track EP is entitled Spirals and also features vocals from Debbie Clare: https://open.spotify.com/embed/album/3LIexvmGC8uLjk7MPGjpg1Continue reading →
Last night we went to see The Go! Team play a sold out show at the Concorde 2. It’s no surprise it was sold out – their new album Semicircle is their best in years and their live performances are second to none. Not even the freezing weather could put a dampener on things. Here’s our pics. As usual, click through to view large: Continue reading →
So, that’s January pretty much done with, which means it’s time for our February gig roundup. First up is an all dayer at the Green Door Store this Saturday from our friends over at Brighton Noise. Thanks to the Facebook event saying “in no particular order” we can’t quite work out who’s headlining out of Dirty White Fever, Breathe Panel, Garden Centre, Penelope Isles (playing songs from their individual solo projects), Leatherhead, Tilt, Merlin Tonto, Perch and the National Intelligence Agency, but we trust their judgement and it’ll be great whatever you get to see. Here’s this week’s new music roundup, starting off quiet, and getting noisier as we go along.
First up is La Lune, whose Bliss EP is every bit as lovely as the name suggests. Here’s EP opener He Breathes Colour When I Feel So Grey: Continue reading →
