What’s the best thing about Brighton?

Adam: I like Brighton in the Spring best.
Who are your favourite local bands?
Smalan: So many good bands in Brighton, love ak/dk and Jouis, Bloom have some awesome new songs also!
Adam: Fragile Creatures and Fierce Friend are my two favourite Brighton bands.
What’s the best venue?
Smalan: The Dome is one of my fav big venues in the world. To play, the basement of the black dove is very atmospheric and the stage was made to fit the two of us!
Adam: Historically, the Free Butt was probably my favourite. Even though it had issues it felt like the heart of the local scene so it was really upsetting when it closed. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Green Door store now because it has a great vibe.
What’s the best rehearsal space / studio?
Smalan: We go to a little place in Kemptown, can’t remember the name but Simon runs it and he is a solid dude!
Adam: Yes, it used to be called Mockin’ Bird Studio and before that Bloomsbury Studio. Brighton Electric is also amazing.
What’s the best club?
Smalan: Green door or Patterns probs.
Adam: The Event 2 is that still going? Or Audio, one of those two.
What’s the best record shop?
Smalan: Resident, seen some amazing instores there.
Adam: Yes, it’s Resident by a mile.
Where’s the best places to eat?
Smalan: I love Big Bowl on Preston street. The pho is so yummy there. Milk no sugar is really nice pho also and the guy there is the cutest!
Adam: La Camponina off St James Street and the Riddle and Finn.
What’s the best pub?
Smalan: Love the Black Dove, very cool bar!
Adam: I like The Geese in Hanover and The Hope & Ruin best. Also The Hand in Hand
Who’s your favourite Brighton celebrity?
Smalan: The guy that sells bird whistles in the laines.
Adam: Slow James.
When was the last time you had any Brighton Rock?
Smalan: Have never touched crack
Adam: 1988, I think.
