The beast from the east might be making it feel like deepest midwinter, but it’s actually the first day of March, so it’s time for some more another gig preview post. First up, this weekend AK/DK play their first Brighton gig since their album launch at the end of last year. It’s at Patterns on Saturday night, and support comes from Fruity Water.
Then on Tuesday 6th March Guru and Hake launch their new release at the Green Door Store. The split 10″ contains Medicine Man by Guru and After Space Legacy by Hake and can be bought at the show.
On Friday 9th March, Anushka play Patterns – their first Brighton gig in almost two years, and their first local headline gig in over three years. On the same night Warsaw Radio launch their album Midnight Broadcast at the Green Door Store. The album’s out later this month preceded by a single called Ms Monroe which we’ll be posting up in a New Music post soon.
Lazybones launch their new single Crazy at the next HW x Tigmus Locals night at the Prince Albert on Monday 12th March. It’s three pounds in advance, but there are bundles where you can get a ticket, tee shirt and the single on cassette. See the facebook event for more details.
The Wytches play a hometown gig at the Green Door Store on Wednesday 21st March. Support comes from Crosa Rosa.
This year sees local promoters Melting Vinyl turn twenty years old. To help them celebrate, they’re teaming up with Spectrum to put on some of their favourite acts. On the 29th March at the Basement you can catch Oddfellows Casino and Collectress with more acts to be announced between now and then.
Our last gig to mention is Wax Machine‘s EP launch at the Hope & Ruin on 31st March. Support comes from Jungfrau, Rokurokubi and Puppet Alan Watts.
