New Brighton Albums – Nick Cave, Fujiya & Miyagi, British Sea Power, Emma Gatrill, King Porter Stomp and The Physics House Band

We do our best to keep on top of new tracks to share with you all, but it’s about time we made a separate post about new albums too. Some of these have been mentioned in passing already when tracks have come out in advance of the releases, but this will be the first mention for some of the others.
lovelycreatures_15-1-768x512The first of the new mentions is a best of from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. They’ve had a best of out before, all the way back in 1998, but this new release covers material from 1984 through to 2014. Lovely Creatures is out on May 5th and will come in a variety of packages – a double cd, a triple LP, a 3 cd + DVD package, and a limited edition which comes with a 256 page hardback book of photos and essays. In Nick Cave’s own words “There are some people out there who just don’t know where to start with The Bad Seeds. Others know the catalogue better than I do! This release is designed to be a way into three decades of music making. That’s a lot of songs. The songs we have chosen are the ones that have stuck around, for whatever reason. Some songs are those that demand to be played live. Others are lesser songs that are personal favourites of ours. Others are just too big and have too much history to leave out. And there are those that didn’t make it, poor things. They are the ones you must discover by yourselves.”
