Manchester

I took a day off blogging yesterday in memory of the people of Manchester. To continue as if it hadn’t happened would have been inappropriate, and our thoughts are with anyone who has been affected by the incident at the Ariana Grande concert at the MEN Arena.

While Brighton Music Blog is very much about Brighton many of my favourite bands are from Manchester, and it was photographer Kevin Cummins’ shots of bands from Joy Division to Oasis that sowed the seed of the idea of a city having a scene that might work for Brighton too. On that day the people of Manchester showed hope, resilience and unity against a common cause. They did too following the IRA bombing in 1996 too, and I’m sure they will again.

Anyway, our first track this week is from Dog in the Snow, a song called Magic taken from their upcoming album Consume Me due later this year:

If you haven’t got yourself a ticket yet then you can get into all the Alt Escape stuff without one anyway.

Our first track is the new one from Fröst, their third in about six months. Delta Antenna wouldn’t sound completely out of place if it had been put out by Steve Lewis’ other band Fujiya & Miyagi:
