Here’s this week’s new music, coming on a Saturday rather than midweek, so we’ve caught all the tracks that just dropped yesterday too, including tunes from the new albums by previous Brighton Rocks subjects Dog in the Snow and Animal House (and a new video from BUNKR too). Anyway, onto the music: Continue reading
Here’s this week’s slightly late new music post. This is actually a post I started writing a fortnight ago, didn’t finish, then went on holiday, so it’ll be followed up very quickly with another new music post of everything that’s come out in the last two weeks. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be a busy few days on the blog:

The received wisdom is that new music tends to dry up as you head towards the end of the year, but more than halfway into November, there’s no abating from our local music scene. Here’s this week’s dose of new music:
Track Name: Grin

Release Date: 30th November 2018
We’re playing catchup this week, after a gig preview last week and the Great Escape the week before that there’s a lot of ground to cover. We’ll also be introducing a simplification in how we present the tracks too, so that hopefully we don’t get so behind in future.
Here’s this week’s new music roundup, just in time for Easter, and with two of Brighton’s biggest bands with brand new releases. New first of these is The Go! Team who shared the video for their new single The Only Thing New is U Finding Out About It. Previously only available as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Semicircle, it’s now out as a single for the rest of the world:
As mentioned in our last new music post, we’ve got some catching up to do. Apologies to any of the bands we’re writing about who got in touch with us weeks ago. Normal service should resume shortly.
First up is Psylhouette, a band from Brighton and Berlin who make beautiful motorik pop. Their new single is called Asking and features vocals by Juli Holz:
Another week, another new music roundup. We’re starting off this week with news of the new EP from Momotaro, who have been fairly quiet for the last few years. The new EP is called Places and is out on 5th May, and the first track from it that they’ve shared is the lovely Gone Days.
So, it’s been a few weeks. Sorry about that. No excuses really, but I never get around to blogging too much when it’s sunny out, even when actually what I’m doing in the evenings is trying to get a baby to sleep. Ho hum. Anyway, music. Continue reading
Now Europe’s most talked about showcase festival, is taking place in a matter of days in our fantastic city. The Great Escape Festival is seen as a ‘mecca for music lovers’. It’s baby sister the Alternative Great Escape will soon be eclipsing the main event.. with the 2016 lineup proving to be even stronger. One of the things I love about the alternative events, is not only are they in your standard live music venues, but you’ll also see them hosted in at your favourite bagel bar, vintage clothes shop or even courtyard. Here are my top 10 highlights for this year’s Alternative Escape: Continue reading
