New Brighton Music

Welcome to our first new music post of 2020. We’re on catchup somewhat, having not made any new music posts in December or so far in January, so we hope you’re sitting comfortably. We’re kicking off with two albums, the first from some Brighton legends who’ve kept us waiting for six and a half since their last record, and the other from the ambient solo project of one of our city’s most prolific drummers:

Electric Soft Parade / Stages

Muddy Suzuki / Endleofta

Beat Hotel / Bury It Deep

Guru / Don’t Talk
Alex Banks / Falling Down
Klae / Take it Back
Thrillhouse / One of These Days
Liemba / Ever Evolving
BUNKR / Solitary Drift (from The Initiation Well Remixed album)
Ornament / Ghost of What We Knew
Fukushima Dolphin / The Furry Side (from The Furry Side EP)
La Lune / Holding onto U
Speedboat / For Jean
Thyla / December
Ross Patience / Dark Days (from Dark Days EP)
Hannah Renton / Skyline
Leroy Horns / A Simple Joy
Good Guy Clarence / Pure Ego Death (from Split Habit EP)
El Train / Out of My Head

Brighton Music Blog Best of 2019

It’s Christmas Eve Eve, and we’ve left it a bit late to come up with our end of the year round up. Without much further ado, here it is – We say it every year, but this isn’t an ordered list, because you just can’t compare a band who’ve been releasing records for over twenty years with another who’ve just put out their first release. So hopefully there’s something in here for everyone, whether you’ve been listening to Nick Cave since he played with The Birthday Party, or you discovered CLT DRP at a sweaty night at the Green Door Store:

Nancy / Clic Clac
Fujiya & Miyagi / Gammon
Penelope Isles / Gnarbone
BUNKR / For The Birds
Laundromat / Humans
HANYA / Dream Wife
Blood Red Shoes / Howl
Orchards / Young
Barnacles / Manatee
CLT DRP / Speak To My
The Soft Walls / Every Target Can Afford To Wait
Projector / Go Ahead
Guru / Don’t Talk
Murmur / Cradle
Demob Happy / Less is More
Cate Ferris / Gyroscope
My Life Story / Taking on the World
Winter Gardens / Coral Bells
Dog in the Snow / Dual Terror
El Train / Feels Like
Ida Vallens / Mt Whitney Hotel
La Lune / Holding Onto U
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds / Gallen Ship
Meemo Comma / Murmur

Honorable mentions also need to go to the Spotify conscientious objectors, Electric Soft Parade and Andres Y Xavi:
