It’s the first of the month, so it’s time to see what we’ve spotted to get you out the house in October. Continue reading

New Brighton Music
Here’s this week’s new music post. It was almost ready to go yesterday, but then we spotted that there was a midweek release from Projector, so we held out for a day to include that. Continue reading
New Brighton Music
Another week, another dose of new music. After a quiet summer things have got busy again, with eleven new tracks for you to listen to this week: Continue reading
Brighton Rocks #28 : Penelope Isles
We first approached Penelope Isles about doing a Brighton Rocks with us back in June but as we’ve been told my multiple people, they’re the hardest working band in town, so the post is only finally going up now. Their album Until The Tide Creeps In came out on Bella Union back in July and the band have been on tour pretty much all this year, most recently supporting the Flaming Lips and playing at British Sea Power’s Krankenhaus festival. Next week they kick off a headline worldwide tour, starting with Europe, then North America, then Europe again and back to the UK culminating in a headline gig at the Haunt on 11th December

New Brighton Music
Here’s this week’s new music post, a little bit later in the week than I had planned, but that just means it’ll be less time to wait until the next one (and hopefully we’ll have a Brighton Rocks to post in the next day or two as well) Continue reading
September gig previews

New Brighton Music
It’s a fairly quiet New Music Post this week – or maybe it’s just that it’s only been a week since the last post I made and I haven’t let things build up. Anyway, here’s this week’s New Music Playlist: Continue reading
Brighton Rocks #27 : BUNKR

What’s the best thing about Brighton?
It’s hard to single out one particular thing, so I’ll be a cop out and list a few. The merry month of May for the Brighton Festival, Fringe and The Great Escape. The thriving live music scene. The general feeling of acceptance. The surrounding Sussex countryside. And of course the seagulls (the birds, not the football team) – they’re the true keepers of
the city. Continue reading
New Brighton Music
It’s been a bit quiet recently musically around town. There are always fewer gigs, and I thought there hadn’t been that many new releases until I sat down to write today’s new music post, and it turns out that maybe it’s not quite as quiet as I’d realised. As per our last new music post, we’ve now got a spotify playlist for all the new tracks: Continue reading
