July Gig Previews

It’s the first of July and summer’s definitely here. What’s hot in the world of Brighton music over the next month though? Read on and we’ll tell you…

There are two local supports – Inwards and Jouis – and the nightwill be lit by Innerstrings.

Yumi & The Weather are on the road around the UK from today for their first full band tour. They’re playing at the Green Door Store on Monday 8th July.

This will be the first time we’ve actually caught a full Orchards set, having missed them so many times and only managing to catch the last couple of songs at this year’s Great Escape. Support comes from Libra Libra and Pollon.

Unless you’re lucky enough to be at one of the European festivals they’re playing at this summer, this is going to be your only chance to see them until their tour in November / December (which finishes at the Haunt on December 11th).

Finally, we couldn’t close off our gig preview without mentioning Rag’n’Bone Man’s gig at the Racecourse on Saturday 27th July. I’m not sure if he still lives locally, but does that really matter when he’s done so much for the local music scene – working his way up with Rum Committee, supporting AudioActive, and playing at the Brits in front of visuals of the pier.
