New Brighton Music

Here’s this week’s new music roundup, as eclectic as always. First up is Mayday by The Go! Team, which we’ve previously featured the audio of, but there’s a proper video for it now, and it also gives us a chance to remind you all that their gig this weekend has been moved to the Concorde:

Next up is Bird in the Belly, whose new single Give Me Back My Heart Again came out last Friday. It’s taken from their debut album The Crowning which comes out on March 23rd. You can catch them playing at The Village on 1st March :

Relax is the new Doves-esque single from Breathe Panel, out now on Fatcat records:

The Isle of CC released a new single at the end of January on Tapeline records. It’s called Listen and you can, erm, listen on Spotify below. If you want to hear more, The Isle of CC will be playing at the QM Records Spectrum night coming up on February 22nd at the Basement.

The Touch is the first single taken from the new Thieves by the Code album from Ava’s Revenge. The single is out now, the album comes out on 14th March:

wuuad are releasing a six track self titled EP on 17th February. In advance of that they’ve shared EP opener Cathedral. The single launch is up in London, but the band are playing Brighton gig on Feb 24th at Brighton Electric with Ezekiel Doo, PUSSLIQUOR, Gloomz and Grymm also on the bill.

I Feel Fine are a new emo band who have just released their debut single entitled Everyday Safari:

Strange Cages release their new single Hypothalamus Blues on 16th Feb, and are lanuching it at a late gig at the Green Door Store on Feb 23rd. Listening to the six minutes of bluesy psychedelia, it only seems right that it’s a late show.

Nick West has been working under a number of different aliases over the last few years, but has recently settled in Brighton and has started releasing music under his own name. The first track as himself is the synthpoppy The Watcher, whose lyrics draw upon his experience of depression:

Happy New Year! Our first New Music post of the year is a bit of a catch up, since we put these on hold in December while we were posting our end of year roundup. It’s been so long since our last post that the band we’re most excited about blogging has put out two new tracks. The Go! Team posted up their latest track All The Way Live just yesterday:

And Mayday went up right at the very end of November. If you haven’t got a ticket to their gig at The Haunt on 11th February yet, then move fast because the dates for the whole tour are selling out all over the place:

Black Biro have a new track, The Artic Windows of Sound, posted up in the wilderness period between Christmas and New Year:

We rather like this new track from Such Small Hands. You is minimal, intricate vocal electronica – just we need to get us through the long winter nights. There’s a full EP promised, which we’ll keep you updated on as we hear more:

Jumanji fell foul of sending us details of their new single in the middle of December. Apologies for not posting it up then guys, but as I mentioned we were busy then, and I’m sure people won’t be so distracted by Christmas parties if I post it now:

Kai-A‘s new EP has apparently been three years in the making, but has already grabbed the attention of Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra. Here’s Five 45 AM, from ‘w You : The Prelude Tapes:

Finally, we have Blood and Moonlight by Beatastic, which is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album 40 Moons Project:
Projector – Break Your Own Heart (launch next Friday)
