I know we made a gig preview post at the start of May, but there’s a couple of events this weekend that we didn’t have full details over before, but also deserve a special separate post.
The first is the Mind My Music all dayer at the Circle Arts Centre in Portslade this Saturday. It’s headlined by BC Camplight, who won over everyone who saw them at the Great Escape last weekend and who has also just announced details of their new album on Bella Union due in August. Also on the bill is a rare opportunity to see The Electric Soft Parade, as well as a host of other local artists. The one day festival is being put on to raise funds for Music Minds Matter, a charity providing mental health support to the music industry, which following several sad events this year seems more necessary than ever. You can find out more, including where to buy tickets, on their Facebook event page.
Also this weekend is an event at the Rosehill Tavern put on by graduating students from Brighton MET who studied Creative Music Production. The event is called It’s Not a Phase, Mom, and mixes live performance alongside audio visual art. It’s a free Brighton Fringe event, but rather than head to the Fringe website there’s a lot more info over on facebook.
