What’s the best thing about Brighton?
The people. I’ve lived in Brighton for nearly 10 years and in that time I’ve met so many free-spirited, creative individuals. That’s what’s kept me here. Lord knows it’s not the rent prices!
Who are the your favourite local bands?
I’m adoring Other States right now. They have this sleazy, coy, American vibe going on which just does it for me.
What’s the best venue / rehearsal space / studio?
I really like Brighton Electric as a venue. Primarily it’s a recording and rehearsal space but they also put on gigs and when they do, there is a real sense of community that comes from all of the musicians gathering in one place to support each other.
What’s the best club?
I don’t really go out clubbing anymore, I’m more of a get-smashed-on-a-bunch-of-cocktails kind of girl so I’m not sure.
What’s the best record shop?
Spotify. Jokinngggg! Resident I’d say, they stock all the music that I like (including my new EP ‘Who Are You, Really?’. Available now in all the best record stores!)
Where’s the best place to eat?
It’s got to be Riddle And Finns. I’ve only eaten there once and that was when my friend won £500 and offered to take me out for dinner anywhere I liked… So I picked the most expensive place I could… I’m sorry Josh. Champagne and oysters are just what I crave.
What’s the best pub?
From day one it’s always been the Bees Mouth. It’s so womblike in there. My friend and I used to play the open mic night in there when we were underaged and broke so that we could get a free beer for playing. I hope they still let me back in despite BREAKING THE LAW!
Who’s your favourite Brighton celebrity?
When was the last time you had any Brighton Rock?
Never. The doughnuts on the pier are good though!
