It’s almost June, which means that we’re almost due for our regular monthly gig preview, back to a standard one after our amended format for May when focussed on the Great Escape.
Had May been a normal month, top of the bill would have been Fujiya & Miyagi‘s launch for their new album Flashback at the Green Door Store this Wednesday. 29th May is pretty much June, so it can take top of the bill on this post instead.
The first gig that we’re actually going to mention for June is another album launch – Rokurokubi play at the Rialto on Friday 7th June in support of their new release Saturn in Pisces.
It’s not all album launches though – La Lune launches her new EP Till My Ribs Hurt at the Komedia on Monday 10th June. It looks like the first music from the EP will be shared this coming Friday, but based on what La Lune have put out already, it should be good.
We wrote about Alex Banks‘ new album Beneath The Surface recently in our new music posts. The launch for the record is finally coming around on 14th June with a free gig at Brighton Electric. It’s free, but ticketed, so click through to the event to register. If you can’t make it along to Lewes Road, it’ll also be streamed online.
Finally, in a non-launch related gig, grasshopper make a welcome return to the Brighton stage on Wednesday 26th June with a gig at the Prince Albert, with support from Peter Cat and Matt Finucane.
