February Gig Previews

So, it’s been a while since we’ve done a gig preview post, what with taking a few weeks off around Christmas, but we’re BACK and so are the good gigs in Brighton.

Butterfly, The Estate Agents, R. Dyer and The International Debt.

The big name gig this month is Steve Mason who’s on the road touring his new album About The Light. He’s already played Newcastle and Glasgow, and will take in Manchester, London and Bristol before the hometown date on Saturday 9th February, which is at St Barts Church just off London Road.

Next up is a gig where the venue caught our eye as much as the band. On Thursday 21st February Currls are playing for Club Fugly at the Hare & Hounds. Last time we went to a gig there at was upstairs, when the upstairs was called Bleach – is this this the return of a much missed venue? We’ll have to pop along and find out.

LPFFinally, a mention of a couple of festivals that are taking place just outside of Brighton, but close enough that it would be rude not to mention them. Next Friday and Saturday Lewes Psych Fest takes place, with AK/DK headlining on Saturday. It’s long sold out though, so keep your eyes peeled for returns. Later this month, at a new venue called Hansen Hall in Portslade just outside the Brighton & Hove borders, Mutations Festival takes place with a bunch of familiar names (Orchards, LibraLibra, Jacko Hooper amongst them) nestling alongside the international acts playing.
