One of these days we’ll get around to posting our gig preview posts at the end of the previous month rather than a few days into the new month. Not this month though. If I was on the ball, I’d have posted about ZOFFF’s gig at the Prince Albert last Sunday, where they were joined onstage by Terry Bickers and Jo Spratley and lit by Innerstrings. As a consolation, ZOFFF are playing again on 30th September at the Prince Albert.
Tomorrow night (6th September) Bloom head up an international showcase at the Rosehill, joined by Bell Lungs from Glasgow and Sam Goodwill from Ohio. There’s a cheap list if you post your name on the facebook event.
On Friday Night, Small Pond and Sugar Free Records are throwing a fundraiser for Dan from Cleft, unsubtly called Fuck Off Cancer. Local bands Bearded Youth Quest and Exploder Than You join Axes to complete the bill.
As mentioned in our new music post earlier this evening, GAPS launch their album As It Is at the Prince Albert on 14th September. Support comes from TEEFF and Japanese Sweets plus a Foreign Skin DJ set.
The launch for Projector new cassette based double A side single Love / Dreaming is at the Green Door Store on Friday 15th September. Support comes from Sick Joy, Loa Loa and Murmur
We’ve already mentioned one gig on 30th September, but there’s actually another two that have caught our eye. The first of these is the Porridge Radio / Penelope Isles co headline gig at Latest put on by Brighton Noise. That Friday night also sees the return of Spectrum, the gig series put on by the Dome, which has taken a break while the Studio is being refurbished, but is coming back in some new homes while work continues. The first of these is at the Basement and is hosted by Objects Ltd, a local label only releasing acts who identify as female or non binary. Objects Head Honcho Lara Rix-Martin headlines the night under her Meemo Comma alias, and is joined by Drill Folly and Ingrid Plum.
