New Brighton Music

Nipping in quickly before The Great Escape turns the city crazy, here’s another round of new music. A few of the bands we’re going to mention are playing at the Great Escape too, so we’ll give their sets a mention while we’re here. First up is a new video from The Fiction Aisle, whose debut album came out at the end of last year, and whose next album is already on the way. Here’s a track that isn’t from either though – Will I Get Where I’m Going Before I’m Ready? will apparently appear on the band’s third long player. Thomas White and his band play at Bar Rogue on Friday at 6pm as part of the Earworm Events / Northbrook College stage:

Next up, some summery indie pop from The Island Club. Let Go is out now from the usual digital download places. Island Club have two Great Escape gigs – Thursday 2.30 at the Hope & Ruin, and Friday 4.15 at One Church

Fickle Friends aren’t playing the Great Escape, but they are re-releasing their favourite track of ours. Swim comes out on monday, and they’ve shared the Good Fine OK Remix in advance:

Salt Ashes‘ new track Save It is out now and is taken from her upcoming self titled debut album which is getting released in July:

This Party aren’t at the Great Escape either, but there is a free gig coming up for their new single Taste. The track comes out on 10th June, and the launch is the night before at the Green Door Store.

Common Tongues have three sets at the Great Escape – Friday 10pm at the Dorset, and two on Saturday, 12pm at East Street Tap and 5.45pm at Marwoods Cafe. Oh, and they have a new single out too, called It Doesn’t Last Forever:

Tiago Saga‘s debut EP Busy With My Head came out a couple of weeks ago. Here’s the title track from it, Poles Apart. He isn’t doing any Great Escape gigs on his own, but…

When Tiago isn’t playing solo, he’s also the front man in  Time for T, who are playing at Marwoods on Saturday at 9.45pm. Their new single Rescue Plane is out now:

Last in our round up this week is Merlin Tonto, who releases a new EP called Baotou on May 27th, which comes in a 5¼” floppy disc (which contains a cd inside). Below we’ve got the first track on the EP, Time Pilot. The launch show is at the Green Door Store next week, but they’re also playing at Love Thy Neighbour’s Great Escape show this friday at The Hope & Ruin:
