New Brighton Music

Since we’re well and truly in the new year, then surely it’s time for some new music. It’s been a little while since we last had a roundup of Brighton’s best new tunes, but that’s mostly because everything goes quiet over Christmas. Everything’s back up and running now, so without any further ado let’s catch up.

Morning Smoke‘s latest single Soft Decay actually came back on 15th December on local label Cannibal Hymns, but by then we were far too busy feeling festive. You can catch Morning Smoke live at Sticky Mike’s on 5th February.

Moving right back to today, just this afternoon Ital Tek announced details of his new album Hollowed. You’ll have to wait until 18th March for it to come out, but for now you can take a listen to Reflection Through Destruction. More details on the album are up on the Planet Mu website.

We know very little about Guerraz, except that they’re from Brighton, and some new material has just been put on up Soundcloud from a release entitled EP1. This is called Eyes:

Ambassadeurs has a new EP out on Lost Tribe Records. It’s called Halos, and this is the title track:

Corey Valentine also have a brand new release just out. Theirs is called The Answer and it’s and aural excursion back the eighties. The track is available as a free download from the band’s Soundcloud page:

2016 should be a big year for The Magic Gang. Their new release, simply titled ‘EP‘ came out on 8th January, and all the people are making all the right noises. We don’t do tips, but if did…

Thuyma are a new act just starting out who’ve shared just two tracks on Soundcloud so far. Here’s our pick of them, Wavey, which if you were going to pigeon hole it, you might describe as ambient electronica.

Everything Change is the new single from electronic soul band Ink Project, who were London based around the time of their first album Inside the Sun but have now relocated to Brighton. The track came out on 8th January and comes with a number of remixes including one from fellow Brightonians Evil Nine.
